Notice on Water Treatment Adjustments
Drier than normal conditions combined with recent releases from Blue Marsh Lake have required the Water Treatment Plant to make more frequent adjustments to water treatment chemicals. The lack of significant rainfall has left the Schuylkill River much clearer, while the releases from Blue Marsh have carried additional organic material into the river. Together, these factors require careful adjustments to treatment processes to maintain water quality.
Due to these conditions, potassium permanganate is often used as part of the treatment process. This can temporarily give the water a pink tint; however, the water remains completely safe to drink. The color will gradually fade as you run your faucets and flush your toilets.
These adjustments are routine and part of our ongoing commitment to providing safe, high-quality water to all customers.

Base Repair to Close Pawlings Road in Chester, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that base repair operations are scheduled on Pawlings Road in Schuylkill Township, Chester County and Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, beginning Thursday, October 2.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Thursday, October 2, through Friday, October 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Pawlings Road will be closed and detoured weekdays between Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) and Audubon Road. During the closure, northbound Pawlings Road motorists will be directed to use Route 23 (Valley Forge Road), Route 29 (Starr Street/Bridge Street), and Egypt Road. Southbound Pawlings Road motorists will be directed to use Audubon Road, Route 363 (Trooper Road), U.S. 422, and Route 23 (Valley Forge Road).

Local access will be maintained at all times. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a bridge inspection is scheduled next week on the I-95 Girard Point Bridge in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, September 22, through Friday, September 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on the northbound deck of the Girard Point Bridge between the Enterprise Avenue and the Broad Street (Route 611) interchanges.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PennDOT has announced that gas pipeline maintenance will close eastbound Skippack Pike (Route 73) in the Township beginning Thursday, September 18, through October 9.

The road will be closed and detoured 24/7 through the Narcissa Road intersection. Motorists will be directed to use Penllyn Blue Pike, Morris Road, Butler Pike. Trucks wills be directed to use U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike), Route 63 (Welsh Road), Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike).

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that PECO Energy will be performing utility construction on Route 252 (Bearhill Road) in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, beginning Monday, September 15.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, September 15, through Friday, October 3, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, northbound Route 252 (Bearhill Road) will be closed weeknights between Maple Avenue and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue). During the closure, motorists traveling west on U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) will be directed to use Route 29 (Morehall Road) and Swedesford Road. Motorists traveling east on U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) will be directed to use Old Lancaster Road, Howellville Road, and Cassatt Road.

Local access will be maintained. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
