Significant event details and developments:
Hazards: The eastern half of Montgomery County remains in a Blizzard warning. The western half of Montgomery County remains in a winter storm warning. Confidence remains high that this will potentially be a historic winter storm. Wind gusts up to 45 mph are possible in our area.
Impacts: Blizzard conditions will lead to life-threatening or impossible travel conditions. Snowfall rates of 2" or greater are possible. Widespread closures and impacts to infrastructure likely. Blowing and drifting snow will result in visibilities of ¼ mile or less. Extensive, crippling impacts are possible to travel and infrastructure and may linger past Monday. Snow covered roads and gusty winds will yield to reduced visibility, which will cause life-threatening travel. Snow totals have decreased across the region. Snow totals are now 12"-18".
Location: All of Montgomery County and the Mid-Atlantic Area.
Timing: Snow continues to develop this afternoon and continues through Monday afternoon; heaviest snowfall this evening into Monday morning.
