Winter Weather Advisory

This is an important message from ReadyPhiladelphia.


Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 1:00 AM until 10:00 AM, Friday (2/5/16). Use caution while driving.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 1 am to 10 am
EST Friday.

* Hazard types... snow.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches, with the
  highest amounts on unpaved surfaces.

* Timing... precipitation will begin as rain, but as temperatures
  fall overnight the rain will mix with and change to snow during
  the overnight hours.  

* Impacts... snow will impact the Friday morning rush hour and
  could cause slick spots, mainly on secondary roadways as well
  as on sidewalks.

* Winds... north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures... falling into in the mid 30s.


Precautionary/preparedness actions... 

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

Flood Watch from February 3 at 12:00 PM until February 4 at 5:00 PM. Be prepared to take action in the event that flooding develops.

Thursday afternoon... 

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Flood Watch

* From Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon

* the combination of melting snow and periods of heavy rain could
  produce widespread low-lying, poor drainage flooding Wednesday
  afternoon and evening. Minor to moderate river flooding is
  possible Wednesday night and Thursday across the Raritan and
  Passaic basins of New Jersey and the Schuylkill basin in Pennsylvania.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... 

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
