Bridge, Sign Inspections Scheduled on I-95 and Several Other State Highways in Philadelphia, Bucks Counties

King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge and sign inspections are scheduled on Interstate 95 and several other state highways in Philadelphia and Bucks counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Monday, February 3, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a moving left lane closure is scheduled at the University Avenue ramp to westbound I-76 in Philadelphia for sign inspection.
• Tuesday, February 4, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, alternating moving lane closures are scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the Fox Street and the I-76 interchanges in Philadelphia for sign inspection.
• Tuesday, February 4, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Friendship Street and Ryan Avenue in Philadelphia for bridge inspection.
• Thursday, February 6, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a moving right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) and the Route 132 (Street Road) interchanges in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, for sign inspection.
• Tuesday, February 11, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 at the I-676 Interchange in Philadelphia for bridge inspection.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges and overhead signs at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.

St. Joseph's University Pedestrian Bridge Construction Scheduled on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Philadelphia, Lower Merion Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that curb and sidewalk construction will occur under a local project to improve the St. Joseph's University pedestrian bridge on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:·        

• Monday, February 3, through Friday, February 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in both directions between 59th Street and Lapsley Lane. 

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

St. Joseph's University will complete this improvement project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Aqua Pennsylvania will perform water main construction on Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, beginning Tuesday, February 11.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Tuesday, February 11, through Friday, April 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) is scheduled to be closed and detoured weekdays at the intersection with Route 252 (Valley Creek Road). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 23 (Valley Forge Road/Nutt Road), Route 29 (Starr Street), Route 29 (Bridge Street), Egypt Road, U.S. 422, and Route 23 (Valley Forge Park Road/Gulph Road).

• Monday, February 3, through Friday, May 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 73 (Church Road) will be closed and detoured weekdays between Easton Road and Washington Lane. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Easton Road, Route 309 (Ogontz Avenue/Cheltenham Avenue), and Washington Lane.

Roadway Construction on Interstate 476 in Delaware, Montgomery Counties

Roadway Construction Planned at Night Next Week on Interstate 476 in Delaware, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that roadway construction will continue at night next week on I-476 under a $63.7 million project to resurface, repair and improve nearly 17 miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps and bridges from I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County, to I-95 in Ridley Township, Delaware County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Monday, February 3, through Friday, February 7, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of northbound and southbound I-476 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges for guiderail and inlet replacement, and tree trimming.
• Tuesday, February 4, through Friday, February 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure will be in place on eastbound and westbound U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between King of Prussia Road and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Radnor Township, Delaware County, for bridge repair.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this resurfacing and bridge repair project, PennDOT's contractor will mill and overlay I-476 travel lanes and shoulders in both directions; perform repairs on 49 structures; improve 21 stormwater management basins to address existing rock slope stabilization issues; repair existing sound walls; replace inlets at select locations; and install new pavement markings, delineators, rumble strips, signage, and guiderail.

The purpose of this project is to extend the design life and improve ride quality and safety of the interstate and improve the current condition of roadside elements such as stormwater basins, drainage inlets, slope stabilization, guiderail and signs that are in poor condition.

H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, PA, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. Physical construction on the project is expected to finish in late 2025.

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction is scheduled next week on U.S. 422, Sanatoga Road, and Porter Road under an $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway and replace bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Monday, February 3, through Thursday, February 6, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, intermittent single lane closures with 15-minute traffic stoppages will be in place in both directions on Porter Road between E. High Street and Sanatoga Station Road for bridge construction.
• Tuesday, February 4, and Wednesday, February 5, from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a single lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between Route 100 and Keim Street for sign construction.
• Tuesday, February 4, and Wednesday, February 5, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a single lane closure will be in place on eastbound U.S. 422 between Keim Street and Route 100 for sign construction.
• Tuesday, February 4, through Friday, February 7, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, intermittent single lane closures with 15-minute traffic stoppages will be in place in both directions on Sanatoga Road between E. High Street and Linfield Road for bridge construction.

St. Joseph's University Pedestrian Bridge Construction Scheduled on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Philadelphia, Lower Merion Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that curb and sidewalk construction will occur under a local project to improve the St. Joseph's University pedestrian bridge on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Tuesday, February 4, through Friday, February 14, a 24/7 alternating lane closure is scheduled weekdays on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in both directions between 59th Street and Lapsley Lane. Work may also take place on Saturday and Sunday if needed by the contractor.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

St. Joseph's University will complete this improvement project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that various construction activities are scheduled at night over the next three weeks on sections of southbound I-95 in Delaware County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Sunday, February 2, through Friday, February 7, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Ridley Park (Exit 8) and I-476 (Exit 7) interchanges in Ridley Park Borough and Ridley Township for digital message sign installation.
• Sunday, February 2, through Thursday, February 6, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Route 420 (Exit 9B-A) and I-476 (Exit 7) interchanges in Tinicum and Ridley townships and Ridley Park Borough for traffic camera replacement.
• Monday, February 3, through Thursday, February 6, and Monday, February 10, through Thursday, February 13, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between I-476 (Exit 7) and U.S. 322/Commodore Barry Bridge (Exit 4) in the City of Chester and Upland Borough for survey operations.
• Monday, February 17, and Tuesday, February 18, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between I-476 (Exit 7) and U.S. 322/Commodore Barry Bridge (Exit 4) in the City of Chester and Upland Borough for survey operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that barrier installation will begin on the Orvilla Road bridge over the West Branch of Neshaminy Creek in Hatfield Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised of the following traffic restriction:

Thursday, January 30, through Monday, February 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure with flagging and short-term traffic stoppages are scheduled on Orvilla Road between Leas Way and Maple Avenue.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.

Built in 1927, the Orvilla Road bridge over the West Branch of Neshaminy Creek is 82-feet-long, 27.5-feet-wide, and carries approximately 8,535 vehicles per day.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Thursday, January 30, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, moving single or double right lane closures are scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Route 452 and U.S. 322 interchanges in the Upper Chichester Township, Chester Township, and City of Chester.
• Thursday, January 30, from 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, a moving right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the I-476 and Ridley Park interchanges in Ridley Township and Ridley Park Borough.
• Friday, January 31, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a moving right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the I-476 and the U.S. 322 interchanges in City of Chester.
• Friday, January 31, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a moving right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Route 452 and Chichester Avenue interchanges in Upper Chichester Township.

Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction activities will take place at night next week on I-95 in Philadelphia and Delaware counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Sunday, January 26, through Friday, January 31, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on the northbound deck of the I-95 Girard Point Bridge for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment maintenance.
• Sunday, January 26, through Friday, January 31, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Route 420 (Essington) and I-476 interchanges for ITS equipment maintenance.
• Monday, January 27, through Friday, January 31, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Girard Avenue and I-676 interchanges for core borings.

The ITS maintenance is being done as part of PennDOT's I-95 Section GR8 project to install and update ITS equipment across regional highways. The core borings are part of the design phase for the upcoming I-95 Section GR6 project that will reconstruct southbound I-95 and its structures between Frankford Avenue and Race Street. Section GR6 is scheduled for construction in 2026.

PennDOT to Host Virtual Public Meeting for Perkiomenville Road Bridge Replacement over Scioto Creek in Upper Frederick Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to attend a live virtual public meeting on Thursday, February 6, for the upcoming project to replace the bridge that carries Perkiomenville Road over Scioto Creek in Upper Frederick Township, Montgomery County.

The proposed bridge structure will be constructed on a similar horizontal alignment as the existing structure. The proposed bridge structure will include two 11-foot lanes and two 4-foot shoulders.  Additional construction includes the replacement of guide rail and guide rail end treatments, approach pavement reconstruction and resurfacing, new pavement markings and signing. Drainage facilities will also be upgraded to help reduce erosion near the bridge.

As part of PennDOT's public outreach program, the department encourages the public to attend the live virtual public meeting on Thursday, February 6, beginning at 7:00 PM, by clicking on this Microsoft Live Teams meeting link prior to the presentation start time.  The department's design team will deliver a project presentation before opening the meeting to questions using the platform's Q&A feature.

Please note that internet access or a computer or mobile device are required to view the virtual meeting. Anyone with special needs or requiring special aid is requested to contact PennDOT Project Manager Emma Richey.

Roadway Construction Planned at Night Next Week on Interstate 476 in Delaware, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that roadway construction will continue at night next week on I-476 under a $63.7 million project to resurface, repair and improve nearly 17 miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps and bridges from I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County, to I-95 in Ridley Township, Delaware County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, January 27, through Friday, January 31, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on sections of northbound and southbound I-476 between the I-76 and I-95 interchanges for guiderail and inlet replacement, and tree trimming.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this resurfacing and bridge repair project, PennDOT's contractor will mill and overlay I-476 travel lanes and shoulders in both directions; perform repairs on 49 structures; improve 21 stormwater management basins to address existing rock slope stabilization issues; repair existing sound walls; replace inlets at select locations; and install new pavement markings, delineators, rumble strips, signage, and guiderail.

The purpose of this project is to extend the design life and improve ride quality and safety of the interstate and improve the current condition of roadside elements such as stormwater basins, drainage inlets, slope stabilization, guiderail and signs that are in poor condition.

H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, PA, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. Physical construction on the project is expected to finish in late 2025.

Reconstruction on U.S. 422, Sanatoga Road, Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove

Bridge and Roadway Reconstruction Scheduled Next Week on U.S. 422, Sanatoga Road, Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that construction is scheduled next week on U.S. 422, Sanatoga Road, and Porter Road under an $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway and replace bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Monday, January 27, through Friday, January 31, from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM, intermittent single lane closures will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange) and Armand Hammer Boulevard for road and bridge reconstruction.
• Monday, January 27, through Friday, January 31, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, intermittent single lane closures with 15-minute traffic stoppages will be in place on Sanatoga Road in both directions between E. High Street and Linfield Road for bridge construction.
• Monday, January 27, through Friday, January 31, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, intermittent single lane closures with 15-minute traffic stoppages will be in place on Porter Road in both directions between E. High Street and Sanatoga Station Road for bridge construction.
• Monday, January 27, through Friday, January 31, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, intermittent single lane closures will be in place on eastbound U.S. 422 between Keim Street and Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange) for road and bridge reconstruction.

In addition, oversized loads (over 10') will not be permitted on eastbound U.S. 422 between Armand Hammer Boulevard and Evergreen Road (Sanatoga Interchange) on Wednesday, January 29, through Friday, January 31, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Drivers will be directed to follow the posted detour route.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PennDOT to Host Public Meeting for Gilbertsville Road Bridge Replacement Project

PennDOT to Host Virtual Public Meeting for Gilbertsville Road Bridge Replacement Project in Douglass Township

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to attend a live virtual public meeting on Wednesday, February 5, for the upcoming project to replace the bridge that carries Gilbertsville Road over a branch of Minister Creek in Douglass Township, Montgomery County.

This proposed project includes replacing the existing bridge with a slightly longer and wider culvert on a similar alignment. Additional construction includes pavement reconstruction, resurfacing and new pavement markings, signing, and guiderail.

As part of PennDOT's public outreach program, the department encourages the public to attend the live virtual public meeting on Wednesday, February 5, beginning at 7:00 PM, by clicking on this Microsoft Live Teams meeting link prior to the presentation start time.  The department's design team will deliver a project presentation before opening the meeting to questions using the platform's Q&A feature.

Please note that internet access or a computer or mobile device are required to view the virtual meeting. Anyone with special needs or requiring special aid is requested to contact PennDOT Project Manager Emma Prince.

PennDOT to Host Open House Public Meeting for Downingtown Station Project

PennDOT to Host Open House Public Meeting for Downingtown Station Project

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to attend an open house plans display for the upcoming Downingtown Station Project on Wednesday, February 5, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Downingtown Borough Building Annex Conference Room at 4-6 W. Lancaster Avenue in Downingtown Borough, Chester County.

The Downingtown Station Project will construct a new train station that meets the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act along Brandywine Avenue (U.S. 322) between Boot Road and Chester Alley. The new station will include two high-level covered platforms for inbound and outbound trains that will be accessed via elevator/stair towers to the parking areas, a new railroad bridge, improved pedestrian access to cross under the railroad bridge, retaining walls, bike racks, sidewalks, surface parking lots, and an above ground stormwater management system. Additionally, access roads providing internal circulation will be included for passenger drop-off, north and south of the railroad tracks.

The purpose of the open house meeting is to provide information regarding the project, including anticipated station design, layout, and access; proposed roadway detours during construction; and anticipated construction activities, sequence, and schedule. The public will also have an opportunity to offer feedback on the project.

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is planning bridge construction on Kumry Road in Milford Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Thursday, January 23, and Friday, January 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and Saturday, January 25, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Kumry Road will be closed and detoured between Rosenberger Road and Walnut Lane. Kumry Road passenger vehicles will be directed to use Allentown Road, Route 663 (John Fries Highway), and Krammes Road. Large trucks will be directed to use Main Street, Broad Street, Tollgate Road, Route 309 (West End Boulevard), and Route 663 (John Fries Highway).

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike will complete this work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

ReadyMontco - Narberth Alert - Snow Emergency Lifted

This is a message from ReadyMontco

As of 12:00 PM, Monday, January 20th, 2025, the snow emergency will be lifted along with the snow emergency parking restrictions. All regular parking restrictions will go back into effect.

Property owners are reminded to ensure their sidewalks are cleared of all snow and ice. This includes ramps at intersections. Residents with a fire hydrant in front of their home are asked to make sure access to the hydrant remains clear so the fire department can access the hydrant in case of emergency.

We thank everyone for their cooperation during this storm, allowing public works to address the snow and keeping our streets safe.
