Travel Restrictions on U.S. 1 for Overhead Bridge Repair in Philadelphia

12/30/2015-KING OF PRUSSIA

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation today announced that travel
restrictions are scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway)
between
Interstate 76 and Wissahickon Avenue in Philadelphia on Monday, January 4
and
Tuesday, January 5, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM for overhead bridge repair.

Crews will also restrict traffic on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) south on
Tuesday, January 5 through Thursday, January 7, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area
as
backups and delays may occur. This work, which is weather dependent, is
part of
PennDOT's $4 million project to rehabilitate seven bridges in Philadelphia.

Road-Con, Inc. of West Chester, Chester County, is the general contractor
on
the $4,017,442 project that is financed with 100 percent state funds.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and
Android
devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts
accessible
