Freezing Rain Advisory

This is an important message from ReadyPhiladelphia.


Freezing Rain Advisory in effect until midnight tonight. Icy roads and sidewalks expected.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Freezing
Rain Advisory... which is in effect until midnight EST tonight.
The Winter Weather Advisory has been cancelled.

* Precipitation type... freezing rain.

* Temperatures... upper 20s to lower 30s at 9 PM will rise sharply
  into the 40s later tonight.

* Ice accumulations... up to a tenth of an inch.

* Timing... freezing rain will transition to non freezing rain... 
  probably near midnight. 

* Impacts... a light glaze is making travel hazardous. Even after 
  air temperatures rise to just above 32 degrees...  the ground 
  is still very cold and untreated roads will likely remain icy.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... 

A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
