construction
activities at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue and Cottman Avenue
(Route

Transportation
(PennDOT) announced today.
The operations are associated with construction contracts underway to
rebuild
and improve ramp connections at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue
Interchange, and to rebuild the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) Interchange and
reconstruct and widen 1.4 miles of I-95 adjoining the interchange.
The work schedule is:
•On Sunday, April 10, through Saturday, April 16, the northbound I-95
off-ramp
to Cottman Avenue (Route 73) will be closed from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning for overhead bridge construction. Motorists will be
detoured
north on I-95 to the exit at the Academy Road Interchange, then right on
Linden
Avenue, and right on State Road to Cottman Avenue (Route 73);
•On Sunday, April 10, through Saturday, April 16, I-95 north will be
reduced
from three lanes to two between the Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue (Route
73)
interchanges periodically from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for
adjustments to the work zone barriers;
•On Wednesday, April 13, and Thursday, April 14, I-95 north and south will
be
reduced from three lanes to two at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue
Interchange from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for overhead ramp
construction; and
•From 9:00 PM Thursday, April 14, to 5:00 AM Friday, April 15, traffic on
the
ramp from northbound and southbound I-95 to Aramingo Avenue will encounter
periodic stoppages of up to 15 minutes for the removal of an overhead sign.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent. Motorists should expect
slow
moving traffic and delays entering the work zones.
