The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge
Replacement Project will begin soon in Montgomery County. Five bridges are
being replaced under the project, with four starting reconstruction in
2017,
and one in 2018.
The project contractor, Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), invites the
public to view a plans display for the reconstruction of one of the bridges
scheduled for replacement in the winter of 2017:
Bridge: Layfield Road over West Branch Perkiomen Creek in Upper
Hanover Twp
Location: Upper Hanover Municipal Building, 1704 Pillsbury Road,
East
Greenville, PA 18041
When: April 25 – May 2
Upper Hanover Municipal Building Hours: Monday –
Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
The bridge plans will be available for review during regular business hours
in
the Upper Hanover Municipal Building.
The bridge replacements are part of the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a
Public-Private Partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone
Partners (PWKP) under which PWKP will finance, design, replace and maintain
the
bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the
bridges
more quickly while achieving significant savings and minimizing impact on
motorists.
