U.S. 202 Southbound Travel Restrictions Thursday Night in Chester County
4/11/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA
Motorists traveling south on U.S. 202 between the Route 401 (Conestoga
Road)
and U.S. 30 interchanges in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, will
face
an overnight lane closure from 8:00 PM Thursday, April 14, to 5:00 AM
Friday,
April 15, for overhead sign maintenance, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation announced today.
This operation, which is weather dependent, is part of the $63.3 million
project under construction to widen and reconstruct 2.5 miles of U.S. 202
from
north of the Route 401 Interchange to the U.S. 30 Interchange.
U.S. 202 south will be reduced from two lanes to one during this overnight
operation. If rain forces the cancellation of the scheduled work, the
contractor will perform the operation from 8:00 PM Friday, April 15, to
5:00 AM
Saturday, April 16.
In addition, continuing roadwork on Route 401 (Conestoga Road) at the U.S.
202
Interchange in East Whiteland Township may cause periodic lane closures on
Tuesday, April 12, through Friday, April 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and
on
Saturday, April 16, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
All scheduled activities are dependent on the weather.
Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel and use extra
care
when driving through the work zone.
Construction to expand U.S. 202 to six lanes from north of Route 401 to
U.S.
30, including work at the Route 401 Interchange, is being performed by
Allan A.
Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County. The project is scheduled to
finish
in late summer 2016.
