Travel Restrictions in Philadelphia and Bucks County for Bridge Inspections

Travel restrictions are scheduled in Philadelphia and Bucks County for
bridge
inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today
announced.

Weather permitting, the work schedule is:

• On Monday, June 20, from 9:00 to 3:00 PM, the left lane will be closed on

Interstate 95 south between Route 132 (Street Road) and Route 413 in
Bensalem
and Bristol townships, Bucks County;
• On Tuesday, June 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed
on I-95 south between Enterprise Avenue and Essington Avenue in
Philadelphia;
• On Tuesday, June 21, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, one lane will be closed on

Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive between Sweet Briar Road and Spring Garden
Street
in Philadelphia;
• On Tuesday, June 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed
on eastbound George C. Platt Memorial Bridge (Route 291) between Bartram
Avenue
and 26th Street in Philadelphia;
• On Wednesday, June 22, , from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the right lane will be

closed on eastbound George C. Platt Memorial Bridge (Route 291) between
Bartram
Avenue and 26th Street. The westbound right lane will be closed from 9:00
AM to
3:00 PM in Philadelphia;
• On Thursday, June 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed
on I-95 north at U.S. 1 interchange in Middletown Township, Bucks County;
• On Thursday, June 23, and Friday, June 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the
right
lane will be closed on eastbound George C. Platt Memorial Bridge (Route
291)
between Bartram Avenue and 26th Street in Philadelphia;
• On Saturday, June 25, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed
on westbound George C. Platt Memorial Bridge (Route 291) between 26th
Street
and Bartram Avenue in Philadelphia; and
• On Sunday, June 26, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed on
eastbound George C. Platt Memorial Bridge (Route 291) between Bartram
Avenue
and 26th Street in Philadelphia.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.
