U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) Restrictions Next Week in Philadelphia for Overhead Bridge Construction

U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) Restrictions Next Week in Philadelphia for
Overhead Bridge Construction

6/16/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on northbound and southbound
U.S. 1
(Roosevelt Boulevard) in Philadelphia, for line striping and sign work
related
to the construction to replace the Holme Avenue bridges over U.S. 1
(Roosevelt
Boulevard), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said
today.

The work schedule is:

•Monday, June 20, through Friday, June 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
restrictions are scheduled on the local and express lanes on northbound and

southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Rhawn Street and Strahle
Street; and

•Monday, June 20, through Friday, June 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
restrictions are scheduled on Holme Avenue and Solly Avenue between
Bradford
Street and Revere Street.

PennDOT advises drivers to allow additional time for travel on U.S. 1
(Roosevelt Boulevard) near the construction area because backups will
occur.
The operation is dependent on the weather.

This work is part of a $15.5 million project to replace the two
structurally
deficient bridges carrying Holme Avenue over U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard),
with
a single structure. PennDOT's contractor will also reconstruct the
approaches
to tie into the new bridge and install a new traffic signal at the
intersection
of Holme Avenue and Fairfield Street. The project is scheduled to finish in

August 2016.

This bridge improvement project is financed with state funds from
Pennsylvania's transportation plan, Act 89.

Buckley & Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the
$15,469,086 project.
