This is a message from ReadyChesco. Attached is the latest weather briefing from the US National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ regarding risk for severe thunderstorms and flooding for portions of our region tomorrow, Tuesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 23.
Chester County Forecasted Conditions: • Hazards and Impacts Tuesday, June 21: o Afternoon and early evening isolated severe thunderstorms are possible bringing the potential of strong winds, hail, and risk of isolated flooding in urban areas and locations with poor drainage. o Chester County is in the marginal risk area meaning storms will be limited in duration and/or coverage and/or intensity • Thursday, June 23: o Flooding is possible throughout the day for Southeastern Pennsylvania o Strong winds and large hail are possible however timing and location of the highest risk is still uncertain. • Active watches & warnings: Currently there are no Watches or Warnings for Chester County.
DES Actions: • We will continue to monitor this event and provide additional information as it becomes available. • The Watch Officer is available through the 9-1-1 Operations Center by calling 610-344-5100. • The EOC is not expected to be activated for this event.
The next briefing package is expected to be issued tomorrow afternoon. Both of these will be updated early tomorrow morning (no later than 4 AM EDT). We will distribute the next package as soon as we have had an opportunity to analyze the impacts for Chester County.
