I-95 Night Travel Restrictions Next Week in Philadelphia

Nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 for
construction at the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) and Betsy Ross
Bridge/Aramingo
Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) said today.
The overnight operations are associated with contracts under construction
to
improve the ramp system at the I-95/Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue
Interchange and to rebuild the I-95/ Cottman Avenue Interchange and
reconstruct
and widen over a mile of the interstateI-95 at the interchange.
The work schedule is:
•On Sunday, July 17, through Friday, July 22, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, I-95 north will be reduced from three lanes to two
between
the Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue (Route 73) interchanges for paving on
the
northbound side of I-95;
•On Sunday, July 17, through Friday, July 22, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, the I-95 north off-ramp to Cottman Avenue (Route 73)
will be
closed for paving on the northbound side of I-95. Motorists will be
detoured
north on I-95 to the exit at the Academy Road Interchange, then right on
Linden
Avenue, and right on State Road to Cottman Avenue (Route 73);
•On Sunday, July 17, through Friday, July 22, the Princeton Avenue on-ramp
to
I-95 north will be closed from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for
the
installation of drain pipes. Motorists will be detoured north on State
Road,
then left on Linden Avenue, then right on the ramp to I-95 north at the
Academy
Road Interchange; and
•On Monday, July 18, and Tuesday, July 19, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, periodic, rolling lane closures will occur on northbound
and
southbound I-95 between the Allegheny Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges
for
sweeping and debris pick up on the inside and outside shoulders.
In addition, on Monday, July 18, and Tuesday, July 19, from 6:00 AM to 2:00
PM,
southbound Richmond Street will be closed between Cumberland Street and
Girard
Avenue for the placement of beams for the new northbound viaduct near the
Girard Avenue Interchange. Southbound motorists will be detoured west on
Cumberland Street and south on Aramingo Avenue to Girard Avenue.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel through the work zones.

scheduled activities are weather dependent.
