Travel Restrictions in Philadelphia for Bridge Inspections

Travel restrictions are scheduled in Philadelphia for bridge inspections,
the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.

Weather permitting, the work schedule is:

• On Wednesday, July 6, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the two right lanes will
be
closed on Interstate 95 south between Interstate 676 and Columbus
Boulevard.
The two left lanes will be closed from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM;
• On Wednesday, July 6, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, one lane will be closed on
the
Market Street ramp to I-95 south;
• On Wednesday, July 6, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed
on I-95 north between Island Avenue and Girard Point Bridge. The left lane
will
be closed from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM;
• On Thursday, July 7, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the two right lane will be

closed on I-95 north from Columbus Boulevard to I-676. The two left lanes
will
be closed from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM;
• On Thursday, July 7, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed
on the Columbus Boulevard ramp to I-95 north;
• On Thursday, July 7, and Friday, July 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the
right
lane will be closed on the eastbound George C. Platt Memorial Bridge (Route

291) between Bartram Avenue and 26th Street: and
• On Saturday, July 9, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed
on the eastbound George C. Platt Memorial Bridge (Route 291) between
Bartram
Avenue and 26th Street.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.
