Grant Avenue in Philadelphia to Close this Weekend for Rail Crossing

Conrail Railroad will close Grant Avenue between Ashton Road and Bluegrass
Road
in Philadelphia, from 7:00 PM Friday, August 12 to 5:00 AM Monday, August
15,
for the replacement of its railroad crossing, the Pennsylvania Department
of
Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.

During the weekend operation, Grant Avenue through traffic will be detoured

over U.S 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard), Welsh Road/Willits Road, Holme Avenue and

Academy Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.
