Olney Avenue Closed this Week in Philadelphia for Intersection Safety
Improvements
8/29/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA
Olney Avenue is closed between B Street and Rising Sun Avenue in
Philadelphia,
today (August 29) through Friday, September 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for
intersection safety improvements, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation
(PennDOT) said today.
During construction, Olney Avenue motorists will be detoured over Tabor
Road
and Mascher Street.
The work is part of a $4.7 million safety improvement corridor project on
1.62
miles of Olney Avenue between Broad Street (Route 611) and Rising Sun
Avenue in
Philadelphia. PennDOT's contractor will install new traffic signals and
pedestrian countdown timers at 15 intersections and construct 106 ADA ramps
at
19 intersections.
The entire project is expected to be completed by November 2017.
Armour and Sons Electric, Inc. of Langhorne, Bucks County, is the general
contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal
funds.
