PennDOT to Restrict Travel on I-76 for Maintenance Work in Montgomery
County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced
that
eastbound and westbound Interstate 76 motorists will face lane closures
next
week for storm drain maintenance operations in Montgomery County.
The work schedule is:
• On Monday, August 22, and Tuesday, August 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
the
right lane will be closed on eastbound I-76 between Gulph Mills and U.S. 1
(City Avenue) in Upper Merion and Lower Merion townships and West
Conshohocken
Borough for drainage pipe flushing and storm inlet cleaning;
• On Wednesday, August 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed on eastbound I-76 between Conshohocken and U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in
Upper
Merion and Lower Merion townships and West Conshohocken Borough for
drainage
pipe inspections;
• On Thursday, August 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed on westbound I-76 between U.S. 1 (City Avenue) and Gulph Mills in
Lower
Merion and Upper Merion townships and West Conshohocken Borough for
drainage
pipe flushing and storm inlet cleaning.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zones during work
hours.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these
areas.
The work schedules are weather dependent.
This work will be performed by PennDOT Montgomery County maintenance
employees.
