Interchanges Early Next Week in Philadelphia
11/18/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA
Travel restrictions are planned early next week on Interstate 95 at the
Cottman
Avenue (Route 73) and Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue interchanges for a
holiday-shortened construction schedule, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) said today.
The operations are associated with projects underway to improve the ramp
system
at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange and to rebuild and
improve
the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) Interchange and reconstruct and widen more
than
one mile of I-95 adjoining the interchange.
The upcoming work schedule is:
• On Sunday, November 20, through Tuesday November 22, from 8:00 PM to
5:00
AM the following morning, the Princeton Avenue on-ramp to I-95 north will
be
closed periodically for the installation of highway signs. Motorists will
be
detoured north on State Road, then left on Linden Avenue and right on the
ramp
to I-95 north at the Academy Road Interchange. Drivers also may access I-95
north by going north on State Road, then right on Bleigh Avenue and right
on
Milnor Street to the ramp to I-95 north;
• On Tuesday, November 22, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning,
alternating northbound and southbound lane closures will be in place on
I-95
between the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) and Bridge Street interchanges for
installation of highway lighting fixtures;
• On Monday, November 21, and Tuesday November 22, from 8:00 PM to 5:00
AM
the following morning, intermittent lane closures and stoppages will occur
on
the ramp from Aramingo Avenue to I-95 north at the Betsy Ross
Bridge/Aramingo
Avenue Interchange for installation of construction barriers and line
striping.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel through the work zones.
All
scheduled activities are weather dependent.
I-95 will be free of construction-related lane closures during the
Thanksgiving
holiday from 6:00 AM Wednesday, November 23, through 9:00 AM Monday,
November
28.
