Wolf Administration Announces Work to Begin on $2.6 Million Project to
Resurface 12 Miles of State Highway in Bucks County

4/28/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

The Wolf Administration announced today that construction is scheduled to
begin
next week on a $2.6 million project to repair and resurface 12 miles of
state
highway in Bucks County. All work on the project is expected to be
completed in
late October.

"It's important to keep the state's highways in top shape," Governor Tom
Wolf
said. "Resurfacing projects like this are an integral part of doing just
that."

Beginning Monday, May 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Burnt House Hill Road
will be
closed weekdays between U.S. 202 and Cold Spring Creamery Road in
Buckingham
Township, for milling and paving. The weekday closure will be in effect
through
the end of May.

During construction, Burnt House Hill Road motorists will be detoured over
Cold
Spring Creamery Road, Route 313 (Swamp Road) and U.S. 202.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are
advised to allow extra time when traveling through this area. The work
schedule
is dependent on the weather.

The additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract

include:

• Route 32 (River Road) from Dark Hollow Road to west of Bridgeton Hill
Road in
Tinicum and Bridgeton townships; and
• Richlandtown Road/Union Road/Main Street between the Tohickon Creek and
Towne
Court Drive in East Rockhill, Haycock and Richland townships, and
Richlandtown
Borough.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill off the existing roadway
surface and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement
will
seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc., of Blooming Glen, Bucks County, is the
general
contractor on the $2,616,692 project, which is financed with 100 percent
state
funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
