Nighttime Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Resurfacing in Delaware
County

Nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled next week on two state highways
in
Delaware County as part of a $2.6 million project to repair and resurface
10
miles of state highway in the county, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, May 15, and Tuesday, May 16, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Westtown Road from South
Concord
Road/Westtown Road to just north of Meadowcroft Road in Thornbury Township,
for
milling and paving; and
• Tuesday, May 16, through Friday, May 19, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Amosland Road/Holmes Road
between
MacDade Boulevard and U.S. 13 (Chester Pike) in Ridley Township and Norwood

Borough, for milling and paving.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling this work zone
because
slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor's schedule is
dependent on the weather.

The additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract

include:

• Ridley Creek Road between Bishop Hollow Road/Barren Road and U.S. 1
(Baltimore Pike) in Upper Providence Township;
• Eagle Road/Glendale Road between Springfield Road and Route 3 (West
Chester
Pike) in Springfield, Haverford and Marple townships;
• Wayne Avenue from Conestoga Road to just north of Woodsworth Court in
Radnor
Township; and
• Springfield Road between MacDade Boulevard and Netherwood Drive in Aldan,

Clifton Heights and Collingdale boroughs, and Springfield and Upper Darby
townships.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill the existing roadway
surface
and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal
the
roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Highway Materials, Inc. of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor on the $2,570,904 project, which is financed with 100 percent
state
funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
