Southbound Delaware Avenue and southbound Richmond Street in Philadelphia's
Port Richmond neighborhood will be closed during the day next week for

Avenue Interchange, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, June 5, through Saturday, June 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
southbound Delaware Avenue will be closed between Aramingo Avenue and
Columbia
Avenue. During construction, traffic headed for southbound Delaware Avenue

Aramingo
Avenue. Southbound Richmond Street will be detoured right on westbound
Girard
Avenue and left on Frankford Avenue to Delaware Avenue.
All scheduled activities are dependent on the weather.
In addition, Columbia Avenue will be closed for approximately two months
beginning 9:00 AM, Monday, June 5, between Wildey Street and Delaware
Avenue
for construction of the remaining portion of the new off-ramp from
northbound
I-95 to Richmond Street at the Girard Avenue Interchange. Columbia Avenue
motorists will be detoured left on Wildey Street, left on Palmer Street,
left
on Girard Avenue and left on Frankford Avenue to Delaware Avenue.
Richmond Street also will be closed for roughly two months beginning 9:00

Richmond
Street will construct the permanent approach to the new off-ramp.
This work is part of the $211.7 million project to rebuild and widen 1.5

including construction of a new northbound viaduct between Ann and Palmer
streets and new off-on ramps at Richmond Street.
