SEPTA Expanding Girard Avenue Closure for Trolley Track Replacement in
Philadelphia

SEPTA is scheduled to close Girard Avenue between Carlisle Street and 18th
Street in Philadelphia beginning at 7:00 AM on Friday, June 30, for trolley
track replacement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced today. The closure will be in place through late July.
During construction, eastbound Girard Avenue motorists will be detoured
south
on Ridge Avenue, east on Poplar Street and north on 13th Street. Westbound
Girard Avenue traffic will be directed to travel north on 13th Street, west
on
Master Street and south on Ridge Avenue.
Two additional closures, Broad Street (Route 611) at Girard Avenue and
Girard
Avenue between Broad Street (Route 611) and 15th Street remain in effect
for
SEPTA trolley track replacement.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas
or use an alternate route. SEPTA's work schedule is dependent on the
weather.
