U.S. 30 East Ramp to U.S. 202 North Restriction Scheduled Next Week for
Bridge Rehabilitations over Amtrak in Chester County

The ramp from eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 will be

reduced from two-lanes-to-one at night next week for overhead bridge
construction in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester
County,
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The ramp restrictions will be in place Sunday, June 18, through Thursday,
June
22, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and from 8:00 PM Friday,

June 23, to 10:00 AM Saturday, June 24, as crews complete installation of
shielding on the underside of the northbound U.S. 202 bridge over Amtrak
and
the adjacent ramp, and begin demolition of half the bridge's concrete deck
and
parapets.

Eastbound U.S. 30 motorists should expect backups and slow moving traffic
when
approaching the ramp to northbound U.S. 202.

In addition, motorists are advised that one-of-the-two lanes on the ramp
from
southbound U.S. 202 to U.S. 30/Exton Bypass remain closed for the
replacement
of deteriorated concrete pavement. Southbound U.S. 202 motorists will
encounter
backups approaching the U.S. 30 Interchange, especially during peak travel
times. Drivers heading to the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass and Business U.S. 30
should
remain in the right lane on southbound U.S. 202 approaching the
interchange,
leaving the center and left lane for motorists continuing south on U.S.
202.

The work is part of a $26.4 million project to complete the final phase of
the
U.S. 202 Section 300 improvement project, which includes the rehabilitation
of
two U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak rail lines.

Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor
on the $26,370,555 project which is financed with 100 percent federal
funds.
