Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Maintenance Operations in the Philadelphia Region

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Bucks,
Montgomery, Chester and Delaware counties for maintenance operations, the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, July 24, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, State Road is scheduled to
close
between Richlandtown Pike and Tumblebrook Road in Springfield Township,
Bucks
County for base repair. During construction, State Road motorists will be
detoured over Richlandtown Pike, Route 212 (Church Road), Pumping Station
Road
and Route 309 (West End Boulevard);
• Monday, July 24, through Wednesday, July 26, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM,
Stenton
Avenue will be closed between Flourtown Road and Norristown Road in
Whitpain
Township, Montgomery County, for base repair. During construction, Stenton
Road
motorists will be detoured over Norristown Road, Joshua Road, Germantown
Pike
and Walton Road;
• Monday, July 24, through Thursday, July 27, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, lane
closures are scheduled on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Route 896 (Newark
Road) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in London Grove, Penn and Lower
Oxford
townships, Chester County, for shoulder work;
• Monday, July 24, through Friday, July 28, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Pikeland Road between Merlin
Road
and Charlestown Road in Charlestown Township, Chester County, for base
repair;
• Monday, July 24, through Friday, July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
closures are scheduled on U.S. 202 between Brintons Bridge Road and U.S.
422 in
West Goshen, East Goshen, West Whiteland, East Whiteland and Tredyffrin
townships, Chester County, for brushing operations;
• Monday, July 24, through Friday, July 28, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, lane
closures are scheduled on U.S. 1 between Route 896 (Newark Road) and Route
41
(Gap Newport Pike) in London Grove, Penn and Lower Oxford townships,
Chester
County, for shoulder work;
• Monday, July 24, through Friday, July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
intermittent lane closures are scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 from just
north
of the Media/Newtown Square Interchange to just south of where U.S. 1 turns
into Baltimore Pike in Upper Providence Township, Delaware County, for base
repair;
• Tuesday, July 25, and Wednesday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left
lane closure is scheduled on Lansdowne Avenue between State Road and Cedar
Lane
in Upper Darby Township, Delaware County, for base repair;
• Tuesday, July 25, through Friday, July 28, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Upper
Tinicum Church Road is scheduled to close at Red Cliff Road in Tinicum
Township, Bucks County, for pipe replacement and retaining wall
construction.
During construction, Upper Tinicum Church Road motorists will be detoured
over
Giegel Hill Road, Durham Road, Route 611 (Easton Road) and Marienstein
Road;
• Wednesday, July 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Birmingham Road is scheduled
to
close between Brintons Bridge Road and New Street in Birmingham Township,
Chester County for emergency pipe replacement. During construction,
Birmingham
Road motorists will be detoured over Brinton Bridge Road and South New
Street;
• Thursday, July 27, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Norristown Road is scheduled
to
close between Butler Pike and Stenton Avenue in Whitpain Township,
Montgomery
County, for base repair. During construction, Norristown Road motorists
will be
detoured over Butler Pike and Stenton Avenue;
• Thursday, July 27, and Friday, July 28, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Flint Hill Road between
Richlandtown Pike and Route 309 in Springfield Township, Bucks County for
base
repair; and
• Thursday, July 27, and Friday, July 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Karakung Drive between Manoa
Road
and Mill Road in Haverford Township, Delaware County, for patching work.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zones for any
closures.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur during construction. All scheduled activities
are
weather dependent.
