Lane Restrictions Scheduled for Bridge Inspections in Montgomery and
Philadelphia Counties

Travel restrictions are scheduled this week for bridge inspections in
Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, August 21 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a lane closure is scheduled
on
Schwenksville Road between Route 29 (Main Street) and Park Avenue in
Perkiomen
Township, Montgomery County;
• Monday, August 21, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled
on
westbound Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Route 29 (Main Street) and
Haldeman
Road, in Perkiomen Township, Montgomery County;
• Monday, August 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on the Interstate 76 West off-ramp to U.S. 1 North, in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, August 22, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between the Cayuga
Street
on-ramp and just south of the Fox Street/Henry Avenue Interchange in
Philadelphia; and
• Tuesday August 22, through Friday, August 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a
right lane closure is scheduled on northbound Interstate 95 between the
Enterprise Avenue on-ramp and the Route 611 (Broad Street) interchanges in
Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur. The schedules are dependent on the weather.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of
the
structures.
