Travel Restrictions Scheduled on Several State Highways for High-Friction
Resurfacing in Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery Counties

Motorists in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties will encounter travel
restrictions next week on several state highways for high-friction
resurfacing
operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced
today.

The work schedule is:

• Sunday, August 6, through Friday, August 11, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, the ramps from eastbound Woodhaven Road (Route 63) to
northbound and southbound I-95 in Bucks County, are scheduled to close.
During
this operation, eastbound Woodhaven (Route 63) will be directed to travel
north
on U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) to Route 132 (Street Road) to reach the ramp to
northbound I-95. Eastbound Woodhaven (Route 63) motorists will be detoured
over
southbound U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike/Frankford Avenue) to Academy Road to reach
the
ramp to southbound I-95;
• Sunday, August 6, through Friday, August 11, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, the northbound and southbound I-95 ramps to Woodhaven
Road
(Route 63) will close to traffic. Northbound I-95 motorists will be
directed to
use the Academy Road exit to northbound U.S. 13 (Frankford Avenue/Bristol
Pike)
to reach Woodhaven Road (Route 63). Southbound I-95 motorists will be
directed
to use the Route 132 (Street Road) exit to southbound U.S. 13 (Bristol
Pike) to
reach Woodhaven Road (Route 63);
• Monday, August 7, through Friday, August 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and

Saturday, August 12, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on New London Road at Appleton Road in Franklin Township, Chester County;
• Monday, August 7, through Friday, August 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and

Saturday, August 12, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on Swamp Road between Sacketts Ford Road and Apple Hill Road in Wrightstown

Township, Bucks County;
• Monday, August 7, through Friday, August 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and

Saturday, August 12, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on Pleasant View Road between Foxtail Drive and Sanatoga Road in Lower
Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County;
• Monday, August 7, through Friday, August 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and

Saturday, August 12, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on Whitehall Road between Bean Road and Route 73 (Skippack Pike) in
Worcester
Township, Montgomery County; and
• Monday, August 7, through Friday, August 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and

Saturday, August 12, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on Stenton Avenue at the Narcissa Road/Norristown Road Intersection in
Whitpain
Township, Montgomery County.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through all work
areas.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The work is part of a $4.8 million resurfacing project to improve travel
and
safety on 25 state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and
Philadelphia counties, by installing a high-friction surface treatment to
provide increased friction and grip on pavements in wet and dry conditions.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on
the
project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state
funds.
