Bridge Construction in Radnor Township
8/24/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA
Eastbound and westbound U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) is scheduled to close
between Route 320 (Spring Mill Road) and Ithan Avenue in Radnor Township,
Delaware County, on Monday, August 28, through Thursday, August 31, from
8:00
PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, for overhead pedestrian bridge
construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced
today.
During the closure, U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) motorists will be directed
to
use Route 320 (Spring Mill Road), Conestoga Road, County Line Road and Bryn
Mawr Avenue. Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
Prior to each night's closure, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00
PM,
the right lane is scheduled to close on eastbound and westbound U.S. 30
(Lancaster Avenue) between Route 320 (Spring Mill Road) and Ithan Avenue.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone during the
overnight closure. Motorists are advised to allow additional time when
traveling near the work area because backups will occur. The contractor's
schedule is dependent on the weather.
Crews will be setting beams overnight for the new pedestrian bridge over
U.S.
30 (Lancaster Avenue) to connect Villanova University and the SEPTA
platform.
Once completed, Villanova University will own and maintain the new bridge.
The
entire project is expected to finish in December 2018.
Neshaminy Constructors of Lower Southampton, Bucks County, is the general
contractor on the $3.7 million project which is financed with 100 percent
state
funds.
