Daytime and Nighttime Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on U.S. 1 and
I-76 for Soil and Test Boring Operations in Philadelphia

Weekday travel restrictions are scheduled next week on Interstate 76, U.S.
1
(Roosevelt Boulevard) and U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard Extension) in
Philadelphia for soil and test boring operations, the Pennsylvania
Department
of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, October 2, through Thursday, October 5, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM,
a
right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the Green Lane
and
the U.S. 1 (City Avenue) interchanges, for test boring;
• Monday, October 2, through Friday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a
right lane closure is scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt
Boulevard Extension) between the Henry Avenue and Ridge Avenue
interchanges,
for soil boring;
• Monday, October 2, through Friday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a
right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard
Extension) between the Wissahickon Avenue and Roberts Avenue interchanges,
for
soil boring;
• Monday, October 2, through Friday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a
right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard
Extension) between the Broad Street (Route 611) Interchange and 9th Street,
for
soil boring; and
• Monday, October 2, through Friday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a
right lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard)
between 7th Street and 9th Street, for soil boring.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur during construction. All scheduled activities
are
weather dependent.
