I-95 Lane Closures, Ramp Restrictions Planned Next Week in Philadelphia

Motorists using Interstate 95 in Philadelphia will encounter overnight lane
closures and daytime and nighttime lane restrictions on several ramps for
construction activities, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Sunday, December 3, through Saturday, December 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
intermittent lane closures will be in place on the northbound I-95
on-and-off
ramps and the southbound off-ramp at the Cottman Avenue Interchange for
line
painting and inlet cleaning;
• Sunday, December 3, through Friday, December 8, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM
the
following morning, intermittent lane restrictions will be in place on the
ramp
from northbound I-95 to the Betsy Ross Bridge, and on the ramp from the
Betsy
Ross Bridge to southbound I-95 for soil borings related to upcoming
construction at the interchange; and
• Monday, December 4, through Friday, December 8, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM
the
following morning, periodic lane closures will be in place on northbound
and
southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange for overhead ramp
painting.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 through the
work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The activities at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange are
part of
the $160.2 million project to rebuild ramps and improve connections between
I-95, the Betsy Ross Bridge and Aramingo Avenue. The work at the Cottman
Avenue
ramps is part of the $212 million reconstruction and widening at the
Cottman
Avenue (Route 73) Interchange.
