U.S. 422 West Lane Closure with Traffic Stoppages Scheduled Next Thursday
Night for Sign Installation in Valley Forge Area

1/3/2018-KING OF PRUSSIA

A right lane closure with periodic 15-minute traffic are scheduled on
westbound
U.S. 422 between the Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) and Route 363 (Trooper
Road)
interchanges on Thursday, January 11, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following

morning for a sign structure installation related to a major project to
build
new, wider bridges to improve travel and carry U.S. 422 motorists over the
Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, South Trooper Road and
Schuylkill
River Trail in West Norriton, Upper Merion and Lower Providence townships,
Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced today.

In addition to the restrictions on westbound U.S. 422, the left lane is
scheduled to close on the ramp from westbound U.S. 422 to Route 363
(Trooper
Road) on Thursday, January 11, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following
morning.

Drivers should allow additional time for travel in the construction zones
because backups and delays will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather

dependent.

The scope of work on this project includes improving U.S. 422 between the
Route
23 (Valley Forge Road) and Route 363 (Trooper Road) interchanges; upgrading

Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) at its interchange with U.S. 422; and
improving
ramps at the Route 363 (Trooper Road), Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) and
First
Avenue interchanges.

Construction on this improvement project began in February 2016 and is
scheduled to finish in May 2020.

J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on
the
$97.4 million project that is financed with 80 percent federal and 20
percent
state funds.
