Governor Wolf Announces Transportation Investment to Support City of
Coatesville
2/9/2018-HARRISBURG
Governor Tom Wolf today announced that a transportation investment he's
making
in the City of Coatesville is a key step in making the Coatesville Gateway
Redevelopment revitalization project a reality.
The nearly $1.3 million grant to DEPG Coatesville Associates, LP will kick
off
intersection improvements to Route 82 (First Avenue) and multimodal
enhancements to Route 82/3070 (E. Lincoln Highway) and E. Diamond Street
that
will improve traffic flow, efficiency and safety.
"Transportation investments are key to economic growth, and I am proud to
help
the City of Coatesville realize its full potential," Governor Wolf said.
"The
community is invested in this revitalization project and these traffic
improvements will make travel easier and safer as the city grows."
The overall gateway redevelopment project is an estimated $23 million
investment in this key entrance to the city, which is anticipated to bring
additional development and reinvestment.
The announcement builds on previous investments the Wolf Administration has
made in the city's revitalization efforts, including the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation's partnership with the city's Redevelopment
Authority to build the new Coatesville Train Station.
