I-76 West Lane Closure Next Thursday Night for Traffic Camera Installation
Near Belmont Avenue
2/22/2018-KING OF PRUSSIA
Westbound Interstate 76 will be reduced to a single lane between the U.S. 1
South (City Avenue) and Belmont Avenue/Green Lane interchanges in
Philadelphia
and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, from 10:00 PM Thursday, March
1,
to 4:00 AM Friday, March 2, for installation of an overhead traffic camera,
the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow additional time
for
travel on westbound I-76 through the work area because backups and delays
will
occur. All scheduled activities are subject to change depending on weather
conditions.
The new traffic camera is one of many new Intelligent Transportation
Systems
(ITS) components being installed along I-76, Interstate 95, and other
regional
highways under PennDOT's ongoing $212 million project to reconstruct
northbound
I-95 at the Girard Avenue Interchange.
