Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Philadelphia and Montgomery counties for bridge inspections, the
Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, February 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled
on southbound Interstate 95 between the Interstate 76 and Broad Street
interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Monday, February 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Broad Street and I-76 interchanges
in
Philadelphia;
• Monday, February 5, through Friday, February 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
a
right lane closure is scheduled on the ramp from westbound Route 291
(Penrose
Avenue) to southbound I-95 in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, February 6, and Wednesday, February 7, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM,
lane
restrictions are scheduled in both directions on Falls Road between Neill
Drive
and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Philadelphia; and
• Thursday, February 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled on Righters Ferry Road between Monument Road and the I-76
overpass in
Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the
structures.
