Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Philadelphia and Montgomery counties for bridge inspections, the
Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Sunday, March 18, through Thursday, March 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a
right lane closure is scheduled on Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) between 26th
Street and Interstate 95 South in Philadelphia;
• Monday, March 19, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard Extension) between Henry Avenue
and
16th Street in Philadelphia;
• Monday, March 19, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard Extension) between 9th Street and

Broad Street in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, March 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard Extension) between Henry
Avenue and Wissahickon Avenue in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, March 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
in both directions on I-95 between the Interstate 76 and Broad
Street/Pattison
Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, March 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on 33rd Street between Wharton Street and Grays Ferry Avenue in
Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, March 21, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is
scheduled on the ramp from northbound I-95 to Interstate 676 in
Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, March 21, through Friday, March 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a

right lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike)
between
Main Street and 4th Street in Bridgeport Borough and Norristown, Montgomery

County;
• Thursday, March 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on 34th Street between Dickinson Street and Wharton Street in Philadelphia;
• Thursday, March 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on westbound I-76 between the Montgomery Drive/West River Drive and U.S. 1
South (City Avenue) interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Thursday, March 22, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on eastbound I-76 between the U.S. 1 North (Roosevelt Boulevard)
and
Montgomery Drive/West River Drive interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Thursday, March 22, from 11:00 PM to 2:00 AM the following morning, a
right
lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard
Extension)
between Wissahickon Avenue and I-76 in Philadelphia;
• Friday, March 23, from 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM, a double right lane closure is

scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard Extension) between I-76
and
Wissahickon Avenue in Philadelphia;
• Friday, March 23, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on westbound Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) between Franklin Mills
Boulevard/Millbrook Road and Academy Road in Philadelphia; and
• Friday, March 23, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on eastbound Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) between Knights Road and Franklin
Mills
Boulevard/Millbrook Road in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the
structures.
