Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, April 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on westbound Interstate 76 between the South Street and Interstate 676
interchanges;
• Monday, April 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on westbound I-76 between the University Avenue and South Street
interchanges;
• Tuesday, April 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled on
southbound Interstate 95 between the I-676 and Columbus
Boulevard/Washington
Avenue interchanges;
• Tuesday, April 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on eastbound I-76 between the South Street and 28th Street interchanges;
• Wednesday, April 4, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) between Franklin Mills
Boulevard/Millbrook Road and Academy Road;
• Wednesday, April 4, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on eastbound Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) between Knights Road and
Franklin Mills Boulevard/Millbrook Road;
• Wednesday, April 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on 33rd Street between Wharton Street and Grays Ferry Avenue;
• Wednesday, April 4, through Saturday, April 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a

right lane closure is scheduled on westbound Route 291 (Penrose Avenue)
between
26th Street and I-95 South; and
• Thursday, April 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled
on 34th Street between Dickinson Street and Wharton Street.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the
structures.
