Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for Bridge Inspections in Bucks and Philadelphia Counties
King of Prussia, PA – Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in Bucks and Philadelphia counties for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, July 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on Route 263 (York Road) between Sugar Bottom Road and Valley Road/Old York Road in Warwick Township, Bucks County;
• Monday, July 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound Interstate 95 between the Island Avenue and Broad Street/Pattison Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, July 10, and Wednesday, July 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 at the U.S. 1 Interchange in Middletown Township, Bucks County;
• Wednesday, July 11, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Allegheny Avenue/Castor Avenue and Bridge Street/Harbison Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, July 11, and Thursday, July 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on Grays Ferry Avenue between Paschall Avenue and 34th Street in Philadelphia;
• Thursday, July 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound Interstate 95 between the Island Avenue and Broad Street/Pattison Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Thursday, July 12, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) between Island Avenue and I-95 North in Philadelphia; and
• Thursday, July 12, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on the ramp from Bartram Avenue to I-95 North in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
