U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) Lane Closures Next Tuesday Night for Line Painting in King of Prussia
King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures will be in place on Tuesday night, November 27 on U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, for line painting related to median construction at Mall Boulevard in King of Prussia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Crews will close the far left lane in each direction on U.S. 202 between Allendale Road and Gulph Road from 10:00 PM Tuesday, November 27, to 5:00 AM Wednesday, November 28.
During the operation, left turn lanes will be maintained from northbound and southbound U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) at intersections along the work area.
Motorists are advised that backups may occur approaching the work zone. All planned activities are weather permitting.
PennDOT rebuilt the median and adjacent concrete pavement between Allendale Road and Mall Boulevard as part of the installation of a new Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) at the intersection.
The DMS, which will be installed at a later date, will provide motorists with real-time travel information on U.S. 202 and other regional highways as part of PennDOT's growing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) traffic management operations for the five-county Philadelphia region.
The work is being done as part of the $26.4 million project that is underway to repair and re-deck two U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and repair two ramps at the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass Interchange in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester County.
Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
