Route 113, Hares Hill Road Restricted Next Week for ADA Curb Ramp Installation in Chester County

​King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter periodic lane closures on Route 113 (Black Rock Road), Route 113 (Dayton Street), and Hares Hill Road in Chester County, on Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, as a part of a project to install 138 ADA curb ramps at 47 intersections across Chester and Delaware counties the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work locations include:

  • Route 113 (Black Rock Road) at Riverwalk Drive in Phoenixville Borough;
  • Route 113 (Dayton Street) at Oak Street in Phoenixville Borough;
  • Route 113 (Dayton Street) at Grant Street/Freemont Street in Phoenixville Borough; and
  • Hares Hill Road at Kimberton Road in East Pikeland Township.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.

ADA curb ramp installation completed at the following intersections:

  • Route 113 (Emmett Street) at Anne Street;
  • Route 113 (Emmett Street) at Marshall Street;
  • Route 113 (Emmett Street) at South Street;
  • Route 113 (Franklin Avenue) at Route 113 (Emmett Street);
  • Route 113 (Dayton Street) at Route 113 (Emmett Street);
  • Route 113 (Franklin Avenue) at West High Street;
  • Route 113 (Franklin Avenue) at St. Marys Street; and
  • Route 113 (Dayton Street) at Emmett Street.

Additional intersections scheduled for ADA curb ramp installation include:

  • Route 113 (Bridge Street) and Buchanan Street; Walnut Street; and Hall Street in Phoenixville Borough, Chester County.
  • Route 113 (Franklin Avenue) and West High Street; Saint Marys Street; Rhoades Street; and Route 113 (Emmett Street) in Phoenixville Borough, Chester County.
  • Route 113 (Emmett Street) and Queen Street; Ann Street; Green Street; Marshall Street; Airy Street; South Street; North Street; and Route 113 (Dayton Street) in Phoenixville Borough, Chester County.
  • Route 113 (Black Rock Road) and Bateman Drive; Riverwalk Drive; and Winding River Drive in Phoenixville Borough, Chester County.
  • Hares Hill Road and Kimberton Road; and Carrie Lane in East Pikeland Township Chester County.
  • Chester Road and Fairview Road in Swarthmore Borough, Delaware County.
  • McDade Boulevard and Bullens Lane; Valley Road; Fairview Road; Woodcrest Road; School Lane; Morris Avenue; Kossuth Avenue; Buchanan Avenue; Forrest Avenue; Ohio Avenue; Milmont Avenue; Baltimore Avenue; Virginia Avenue; Arlington Avenue; Belmont Avenue; Haverford Road/Morton Avenue; Rio Vista Avenue; Monta Vista Avenue; Pathmark Drive; Willowbrook Drive; Edgewood Avenue; Hazel Avenue; and Fernwood Avenue in Ridley Township, Delaware County.

L.C. Costa Contractors, Inc. of Warminster, Bucks County, is the general contractor on the $946,676 project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in summer 2019.
