Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for High Friction Surface Treatment Across the Philadelphia Region
King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions are scheduled on several state highways across the Philadelphia region, on Wednesday, June 12, through Friday, June 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for high friction surface treatment, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work locations include:
- Route 29 (Bridge Street) between Walnut Street and Sowers Avenue in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County;
- Route 63 (Old Welsh Road) between Huntingdon Road and Sybill Lane in Abington Township, Montgomery County;
- Route 82 (Doe Run Road) between Rokeby Road and Longview Road in East Fallowfield Township, Chester County;
- Route 320 (Sproul Road) between Kent Road and Darby Road in Marple Township, Delaware County; and
- Main Street between Pennhurst Road and Sacco Road in Limerick Township, Montgomery County.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.
This work is a part of a $4.7 million project to apply high friction surface treatment to various state highways across the Philadelphia Region.
Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in March 2022.
J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor in the project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
