PennDOT - District 6 News: PECO to Restrict Several State Highways for Utility Improvements in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery Counties

PECO to Restrict Several State Highways for Utility Improvements in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – PECO Energy is planning weekday lane closures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on several state highways across the Philadelphia region including Route 252 (Valley Forge Road) in Chester County; Route 291 (2nd Street) in Delaware County; and Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) in Montgomery County for utility installations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. 

The work schedule is:
  • Monday, June 10, through Friday, June 28, Route 252 (Valley Forge Road) between Valley Creek Road and Baptist Road in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County;
  • Monday, June 10, through early July, northbound Route 291 (2nd Street) between Central Avenue and Concord Avenue in the City of Chester, Delaware County;
  • Monday, June 10, through late July, southbound Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) between Twining Road and Fitzwatertown Road in Upper Dublin Township, Montgomery County;
  • Monday, June 17, through mid-July, the intersection of Route 23 (Conshohocken State Road) and Levering Mill Road in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County. Traffic through each direction of the intersection will be controlled by flagging; and
  • Monday, June 17, through late September, Route 724 (Schuylkill Road) between Keim Street and the ramp to U.S. 422 in North Coventry Township, Chester County.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

PECO Energy will complete these projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
