PennDOT to Host Open House for U.S. 30/Airport Road Interchange Reconstruction Project in Chester County
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will hold an open house public plans display on Thursday, June 20, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Coatesville Moose Lodge – 1910 Ballroom at 1200 Airport Road in Coatesville to inform citizens about the upcoming project to reconstruct a 3.9-mile section of U.S. 30 and the interchange at Airport Road in Sadsbury, West Caln and Valley townships, Chester County.
The purpose of the open house is to present the public with progress plans and a status update on the project. The meeting will be conducted as an open-house plans display where citizens will have the opportunity to circulate among the subject displays to gather information and discuss the different facets of the project with PennDOT's design team.
Proposed work under this section consists of reconstructing existing U.S. 30 from east of the Old Mill Road overpass to east of the Wagontown Road overpass; reconfiguring the interchange at Airport Road to include longer acceleration and deceleration ramps to improve safety; constructing the missing ramps from Airport Road to westbound U.S. 30 and from eastbound U.S. 30 to Airport Road to improve traffic flow and alleviate congestion on Business U.S. 30; and rehabilitating the bridges carrying Airport Road over U.S. 30 and the bridge carrying U.S. 30 over Wagontown Road.
Construction bids on this project are expected to open in late 2025. The project is anticipated to be funded with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state dollars.
This project is part of PennDOT's program to improve and reconstruct 14.5-miles of U.S. 30 in Chester County. More information is available at www.us30-chesco.com.
