U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) Lane Closures at Night Next Week for Viaduct Construction in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Nighttime lane closures will be in place next week on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) in both directions between Fox Street and 17th Street in Philadelphia for construction activities on a project to rehabilitate the half-mile-long Wayne Junction Viaduct which carries the expressway over SEPTA tracks, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Weather permitting, crews will perform paving operations and remove temporary construction barrier on Thursday, June 27, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM and Friday, June 28, from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM the following morning. Motorists should expect backups and slowdowns approaching the work zone.

South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, N.J. is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. For more detailed information, visit us1wav.com.
