U.S. 202 Lane Closures Monday, Tuesday Nights for Bridge Painting in Chester County

King of Prussia, PA –  Lane closures will be in place on U.S. 202 in both directions between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges in in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, on Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for painting of the Morstein Road overpass, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised that backups may occur at times approaching the work zone. The schedule is weather dependent.

PennDOT is currently rehabilitating and repainting the structural steel on the Morstein Road overpass and rehabilitating, re-decking and repainting the outside half of the southbound U.S. 202 bridge over Amtrak following completion of repairs to the inner half of the bridge in late 2018. Rehabilitation of the northbound bridge finished in mid-2018.

The work is part of a $26.4 million project to rehabilitate the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass ramp, rehabilitate the Morstein Road overpass, and replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass. The entire project is expected to be completed in the fall.

Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. For more information, visit www.us202-300.com.
