PennDOT to Repair and Resurface More Than 20 State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region
King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule and locations are:
Bucks County
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Swamp Pike between Dark Hollow Road and Old York Road in Buckingham and Doylestown townships for milling and paving operations; and
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Aquetong Road between Old Windy Bush Road and Solebury Mountain Road in Solebury Township for milling and paving operations.
Chester County
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 52 (Lenape Road) between Edgemill Way and Shropshire Road in East Bradford Township for milling and paving operations;
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Surgarsbridge Road between Telegraph Road and U.S. 322 (Downingtown Pike) in West Bradford Township for resurfacing operations;
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Goshen Road between Sugartown Road and Warren Avenue in Newtown Township for milling and paving operations;
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Oakbourne Road between Concord Road and Beechwood Road in Westtown Township for milling and paving operations; and
- Tuesday, August 27, through Thursday, August 29, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 30 between Reeceville Road and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue) in Caln and East Caln townships and Downington Borough for paving operations.
Delaware County
- Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on U.S. 202 (Wilmington Pike) between Concord Country Club Road and Dilworthtown Road in Chadds Ford Township for milling and paving operations;
- Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Route 352 (Middletown Road) between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and Van Leer Avenue in Middletown Township for milling and paving operations;
- Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Darby Road between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 320 (Sproul Road) in Haverford and Darby townships and Lansdowne Borough for milling and paving operations; and
- Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Lansdowne Avenue between Garrett Road Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Upper Darby and Haverford townships for milling and paving operations.
Montgomery County
- Sunday, August 25, through Tuesday, August 27, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Byberry Road between Philmont Avenue and Reading Way for in Lower Moreland Township for paving operations;
- Monday, August 26, through Wednesday, August 28, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Trooper Road and Egypt Road interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships for road sealing;
- Sunday, August 25, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Perkiomenville Road between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and Route 73 (Big Road) in Upper Fredrick Township for milling and paving operations;
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Stenton Avenue between Narcissa Road and Norristown Road in Whitpain Township for milling and paving operations;
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane restriction is scheduled on Susquehanna Road between Lindsay Lane and Dixon Lane in Abington Township for milling and paving operations; and
- Thursday, August 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) between Tennis Avenue and County Line Road in Horsham and Montgomery townships for milling operations.
Philadelphia County
- Monday, August 26, through Wednesday, August 28, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Linden Avenue between Academy Road and the Interstate 95 Interchange for paving operations;
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Levick Street between State Road and Rising Sun Avenue for paving operations and island replacement;
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Torresdale Avenue between Kensington Avenue and Linden Avenue for milling operations; and
- Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Lindbergh Boulevard between 63rd Street and Elmwood Avenue for resurfacing operations.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
