Wolf Administration Announces Completion of Route 23 (Main Street) Restoration Project in Elverson Borough, Chester County
Philadelphia, PA – The Wolf Administration announced today the completion of the Route 23 (Main Street) restoration project in Elverson Borough, Chester County.
"Completing restoration projects like this one speaks to PennDOT's commitment to maintaining and improving Pennsylvania's transportation network," sad Governor Tom Wolf.
The restoration project began in July 2018 to replace deteriorated drainage structures; perform full-depth pavement reconstruction; and install ADA curb ramps at the intersections with Route 82 (Chestnut Street), Hall Street, Park Avenue, Pine Street, and Brick Lane.
Eastbound Route 23 (Main Street) which was closed during construction, was reopened in October. Minor construction activities, including pavement marking installations, were completed earlier this month.
This operation was also coordinated with the Elverson Water Company which has worked concurrently to replace its water line on Route 23 (Main Street).
Allan Myers, LP, of Worcester, PA, is the general contractor on the $4,493,482 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
