I-76, I-95 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Sign Structure and Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – Single lane closures are scheduled next week on several state highways in Philadelphia including Interstate 76 and Interstate 95 for sign structure and bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, March 2, from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM, left or right lane closures are scheduled on eastbound and westbound I-76 between the Montgomery Drive and Girard Avenue interchanges for overhead sign structure inspection;
- Monday, March 2, through Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) between 26th Street and Island Avenue for bridge inspection;
- Wednesday, March 4, and Thursday, March 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, left or right lane closures are scheduled on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Woodhaven Road (Route 63) and Betsy Ross Bridge (Route 90) interchanges for overhead sign structure inspection;
- Friday, March 6, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound or southbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue and Interstate 676/Callowhill interchanges for bridge inspection;
- Saturday, March 7, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the northbound or southbound local lanes on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Byberry Road and Hornig Road/Crown Way for bridge inspection;
- Saturday, March 7, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound or southbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue and I-676/Callowhill interchanges for bridge inspection;
- Saturday, March 7, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the southbound local lanes on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Hornig Road/Crown Way and Byberry Road for bridge inspection; and
- Saturday, March 7, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the I-676/Callowhill and Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue interchanges for bridge inspection.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
