I-95 Among Several Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections Philadelphia and Chester Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 and several other highways in Philadelphia and Chester counties for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, April 20, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on the off-ramp from eastbound I-76 to U.S. 1 North/Roosevelt Boulevard interchange in Philadelphia;
• Monday, April 20, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Wissahickon Avenue and the I-76 Interchange in Philadelphia;
• Monday, April 20, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) between Knights Road and Franklin Mills Boulevard in Philadelphia;
• Monday, April 20, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) between Franklin Mills Boulevard and Academy Road in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, April 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Wissahickon Avenue and Henry Avenue in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, April 21, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right rolling lane closure is scheduled on the northbound I-95 off-ramp to I-676 West/Vine Street Expressway interchange in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, April 21, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left rolling lane closure is scheduled on the eastbound I-676 off-ramp to I-95 South interchange between in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, April 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Kennett Oxford Bypass) at the Route 272 (Nottingham Drive) interchange in West Nottingham Township, Chester County;
• Wednesday, April 22, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue and Allegheny Avenue/Castor Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, April 22, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue and Route 73/Cottman Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, April 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on 26th street between the I-76 East interchange and Hartranft Street in Philadelphia;
• Wednesday, April 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 between I-676 West/Vine Street Expressway and Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Thursday, April 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Kennett Oxford Bypass) between Route 472 (Lancaster Pike) and Route 10 (Limestone Road) interchanges in Lower Oxford Township, Chester County;
• Thursday, April 30, from 9 AM to 3:00 PM, alternating lane closures are scheduled on West Christiana Road between Kirks Mill Road and Hopewell Road in West Nottingham Township, Chester County;
• Thursday, April 23, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between I-76 East/Walt Whitman Bridge and Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Thursday, April 23, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between I-76 East/Walt Whitman Bridge and Route 611 North/Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia; and
• Friday, April 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, right lane closures are scheduled on Front Street between Oregon Avenue and Packer Avenue in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Normal highway and bridge construction projects in Pennsylvania remain paused as part of the commonwealth's efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. These inspections are part of critical work that continues to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
