A severe storm is hitting the area today into Tuesday, with snow already falling. This storm has the capacity to produce snow accumulating up to 12-18 inches on the region. Our local impact will vary depending on local temperatures and how the storm progresses. A snow declaration is in affect starting today until the end of the event. During a snow emergency cars must be parked on the odd side of the street since it is an odd year, 2021. This parking arrangement is vital to plowing operations for our community. Please remain at home if possible and monitor the weather. If any significant information changes, further updates will be provided.

During this time parking on designated Snow Emergency Routes is prohibited to allow our plow operators to clear the streets in a safe and efficient manner. Cars parked on Snow Emergency Routes after 12 p.m. may be towed and/or ticketed. Residents are also reminded to please clear your sidewalks of ice and snow within 24 hours of the end of the storm. Hello, this is Lower Providence Township with an important announcement.
A Snow Emergency has been declared for Lower Providence Township in anticipation of the forecasted snowfall.
The snow emergency starts at 12:00 pm Sunday, January 31, 2021 and ends at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 subject to change.
During this emergency:
No vehicles shall be parked on the odd numbered side of the street.
No person shall operate a vehicle upon any street without chains or all-weather tires.
Any vehicle parked, stalled, incapable of moving or left unattended on any street, may be removed or towed by the Police Department or Emergency Management Coordinator.
No person shall deposit snow upon any street.
Any questions regarding the snow emergency declaration should be directed to the Lower Providence Township Emergency Management Coordinator at (610) 635-3546 or the Lower Providence Police Department at (610) 539-5901.

King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Academy Road/Linden Avenue and Route 413/Bristol interchanges in Bensalem and Bristol townships, Bucks County on Monday, February 1, through Friday, February 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for guide rail repair, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.

King of Prussia PA – Lane closures are scheduled in both directions next week on Interstate 95 in City of Chester, Delaware County for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedules and locations are:
- Wednesday, February 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Interstate 476 North and U.S. 322 East/Commodore Barry Bridge interchanges; and
- Thursday, February 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Route 320/Route 352 and I-476 North interchanges.

King of Prussia, PA – A left lane closure is scheduled on northbound Henry Avenue at the Hermit Lane Intersection in Philadelphia, on Monday, February 1, through Friday, February 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for delineator installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today, as part of a Philadelphia region safety improvement project.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
The work is part of a PennDOT project to install safety enhancements on various state highways and intersections across the five-county Philadelphia region to improve travel and reduce high-speed and wrong-way crashes.
Kuharchik Construction, INC. of Exeter, is the general contractor on this $5,996,571, project that is financed with 100 percent federal funds. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in early spring 2023.

U.S. 30 (West Girard Avenue) Lane Restrictions Scheduled for Bridge Replacement Project in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 30 (West Girard Avenue) will be reduced to a single lane in each direction between 34th Street and 38th Street in Philadelphia, on Tuesday, February 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for construction staging operations as part of a project to replace the bridge that carries four lanes of traffic and the SEPTA Route 15 trolley over CSX railroad tracks between 34th and 38th streets in the Parkside neighborhood of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
U.S. 30 (West Girard Avenue) motorists traveling through this area may also encounter single lane closures Mondays through Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through the end of January.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signing, and relevant training.
The scope of the project includes replacement of the bridge superstructure and rehabilitation of the stone support abutments. In addition, the exit ramp of eastbound Interstate 76 will have a dedicated right turn lane added. The SEPTA trolley tracks will also be replaced across the bridge.
Neshaminy Constructors In., is the general contractor on the $4,141,673 project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to finish in spring 2021.

King of Prussia, PA - Nighttime single lane closures will be in place on northbound and southbound Interstate 95 at the Bridge Street Interchange in Philadelphia on Wednesday, February 3, through Friday, February 5, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for soil boring operations related to upcoming reconstruction projects, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Drivers are advised to remain alert for slowing traffic when approaching the soil boring locations. All scheduled operations are weather dependent.
The soil borings are part of advance engineering activities underway for reconstruction of I-95 between Carver Street and Margaret Street, including the Bridge Street Interchange ramps, and for reconstruction in the Penn's Landing area.

PennDOT to Replace Route 63 (Red Lion Road) Culvert over Huntingdon Valley Creek in Lower Moreland Township
King of Prussia, PA – Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 15, on a project to replace the culvert carrying Route 63 (Red Lion Road) over Huntingdon Valley Creek in Lower Moreland Township, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Due to the nature of construction, Route 63 (Red Lion Road) will be closed and detoured 24/7 between Philmont Avenue and Dale Road beginning Monday, February 15, through the completion of the project scheduled for mid-July.
During the closure, Route 63 (Red Lion Road) motorists will be directed to use Philmont Avenue and Pine Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Trucks, which may not turn right from Philmont Avenue onto Pine Road, will be directed use Philmont Avenue, Byberry Road, and Pine Road.
PennDOT's contractor will replace the existing 92-year-old structure that is 14 feet long and 20 feet wide with a new wider precast concrete arch culvert that will be 14 feet long and 50 feet wide. The added width will improve traffic flow for the on average 13,082 vehicles that travel over the structure daily. Other improvements include storm water management, signalization, sidewalk and ADA curb ramp upgrades.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
Route 63 (Red Lion Road) culvert is one of five structures in Chester, Montgomery and Delaware counties that PennDOT is repairing under a $4,948,703 project.
Structures completed under this project include:
- Kaolin Road Bridge over the west branch of Red Clay Creek in Kennett Township, Chester County; and
- Concord Road over Green Creek in Concord Township, Delaware County.
The other structures included in this bridge replacement/rehabilitation project include the following:
- Mansion Road over the south branch of French Creek in Warwick Township, Chester County. Built in 1904, Mansion Road Bridge (Brower's Bridge) is listed with the National Register of Historic Places and a part of the Reading Furnace Historic District; and
Route 320 (Trinity Lane) over Gulph Mills Creek in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County. Built in 1789, the Trinity Lane Bridge is also listed with the National Register of Historic Places and noted as the fifth oldest bridge in the Unites States of America.
J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on this bridge improvement project that is financed with 100 percent state funds. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in early fall 2021.

King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 422 motorists will encounter a lane closure in both directions next week for various construction activities under a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair seven structures along a five-mile section of U.S. 422 between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule and locations are:
- Monday, February 1, through Friday, February 5, from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a left or right lane closure is scheduled on westbound U.S. 422 between Country Club Road and Evergreen Road and at the Sanatoga Interchange; and
- Monday, February 1, through Friday, February 5, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a left or right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound U.S. 422 between Park Road and Township Line Road and at the Limerick and Sanatoga interchanges.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
Under this two-year improvement project, PennDOT's contractor will mill, overlay and rehabilitate existing U.S. 422 pavement; perform bridge deck repairs, concrete and joint patching, sealing and drainage improvements; install new guide rail and rumble strips; and repair or replace damaged traffic signs along the corridor.

I-95 South Single, Double Lane Closures Scheduled at Night Next Week for Guide Rail Installation in Delaware County
King of Prussia, PA – Southbound Interstate 95 motorists will encounter single and double lane closures next week between the Interstate 476 Interchange and the Delaware state line for guide rail installation under a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair 15 structures on more than 11 miles of the interstate in Lower Chichester, Upper Chichester, Chester, Ridley and Tinicum townships, the City of Chester and Upland and Ridley boroughs, Delaware County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, February 1, through Thursday, February 4, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, a single lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95; and
- Monday, February 1, through Thursday, February 4, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a double lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95.
I-95 motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
Under this project, PennDOT's contractor will mill, overlay and rehabilitate the existing concrete pavement including 41 ramps; perform minor structural repairs to 15 of the 33 bridges located in the project limits; repair sections of median barrier; upgrade guide rail; install new pavement markings, delineators and rumble strips; repair and clean existing inlets and pipes; and replace damaged or missing traffic signs. The Pennsylvania Welcome Center just north of the Delaware state line also will be improved with concrete base repairs and new parking stripes, pavement markings and signs.
Allan A. Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $68.4 million project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2023.

I-76 East to Close at Night Next Week, I-76 West to Close Next Weekend for Viaduct Repairs in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – Eastbound and westbound single lane conditions and overnight and weekend closures will be in place next week on Interstate 76 between University Avenue and 30th Street in Center City Philadelphia for median barrier construction and viaduct repairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work next week and next weekend, weather permitting, will end the around-the-clock westbound lane closure that were in place since last September between University Avenue and 30th Street by Monday morning, February 8. However, overnight and weekend lane restrictions and closures will continue on I-76 until the viaduct rehabilitation project finishes this spring.
The eastbound off-ramp and westbound on-ramp at South Street, which remain closed for construction of a new I-76 median barrier, also will reopen by Monday morning, February 8.
Weather permitting, the I-76 restrictions and locations for next week are:
- Monday, February 1, through Thursday, February 4, eastbound I-76 will be reduced to one lane between 30th Street and University Avenue at 8:00 PM, then closed completely at 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, for overhead viaduct repairs;
- Thursday, February 4, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a slow-moving single lane traffic pattern will be in place on eastbound or westbound I-76 between Montgomery Drive and Passyunk Avenue for maintenance of work zone signs;
- From 12:00 Noon Friday, February 5, to 5:00 AM Monday, February 8, eastbound I-76 will be reduced to one lane between 30th Street and University Avenue for removal of construction barrier and line striping. Eastbound on-ramps at Walnut Street and South Street also will be closed; and
- From 12:00 Noon Friday, February 5, to 5:00 AM Monday, February 8, westbound I-76 will be closed between University Avenue and Interstate 676 for removal of construction barrier and line striping. Westbound on-ramps at University Avenue, Vare Avenue and South Street also will be closed.
When westbound I-76 is closed next weekend, westbound I-76 through motorists coming from New Jersey will be directed to go north on Interstate 95, then west on I-676 to access westbound I-76. Westbound local motorists will exit at University Avenue and follow the posted detours to the ramp to I-76 west.
When eastbound I-76 is closed at night next week, traffic will be directed to exit at 30th Street and follow Market Street west to left on 38th Street to the ramp to eastbound I-76 at 34th Street. For ramp closures, drivers will follow posted detours.
Drivers are advised to use alternate routes or allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur during all of the scheduled activities, which are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signing, and relevant training.
PennDOT is repairing, resurfacing and replacing the median barrier on the I-76 viaduct under a $40 million contract. More information is available at www.i76viaduct.com.
Repairs to the Schuylkill Avenue viaduct are part of PennDOT's $103.6 million project to rehabilitate the Chestnut Street bridge over the Schuylkill River and eight other nearby structures, including those carrying Schuylkill Avenue over I-76 between Walnut Street and Market Street. PECO to Close College Avenue Weekdays for Utility Installation in Haverford Township
King of Prussia, PA – PECO Energy is planning to close College Avenue weekdays between Coopertown Road and Darby Road in Haverford Township, Delaware County, on Friday, February 5, through Wednesday, March 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for gas main installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
During the weekday closure, College Avenue motorists will be directed to use Darby Road, Ardmore Avenue and Haverford Road.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
PECO Energy will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

PennDOT Reopens Suplee Road Bridge in Honey Brook Township
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has reopened the structure carrying Suplee Road over the east branch of Brandywine Creek in Honey Brook Township, Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today, following the completion of a bridge rehabilitation project.
PennDOT's contractor rehabilitated the 84-year-old structure with repairs that included encasing the beam ends and sections of the open steel grid deck in reinforced concrete. The bridge is 32 feet long and 22 feet wide and carries an average of 990 vehicles a day.
This work is part of nine structures in Bucks and Chester counties that PennDOT is repairing or replacing under a $4,523,491 project financed with 100 percent state funds.
Structures completed under this project include:
- Route 313 (Dublin Pike/Swamp Road) over Deep Run in Hilltown and Bedminster townships, Bucks County;
- Butler Avenue over branch of Neshaminy Creek in New Britain Township, Bucks County;
- Pughtown Road over French Creek in East Vincent Township, Chester County;
- Route 896 (Newark Road) over Muddy Creek in Upper Oxford Township, Chester County;
- Route 841 (Chatham Road) over Doe Run in West Marlborough Township, Chester County; and
- Route 926 (Street Road) over Radley Run in Thornbury and Westtown townships, Chester County.
Another structure in progress includes:
- Two Green Valley Road structures. One over tributary of West Brandywine Creek, and one over Green Valley Creek in Newlin Township, Chester County.
C. Abbonzino Contractors, Inc. of Sewell, N.J., is the general contractor on the bridge improvement project. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in 2021.

King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 422 motorists will encounter a lane closure in both directions next week for various construction activities under a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair seven structures along a five-mile section of U.S. 422 between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule and locations are:
- Monday, January 25, through Friday, January 29, from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a left or right lane closure is scheduled on westbound U.S. 422 between Country Club Road and Evergreen Road and at the Sanatoga Interchange; and
- Monday, January 25, through Friday, January 29, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a left or right lane closure is scheduled on eastbound U.S. 422 between Park Road and Township Line Road and at the Limerick and Sanatoga interchanges.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
Under this two-year improvement project, PennDOT's contractor will mill, overlay and rehabilitate existing U.S. 422 pavement; perform bridge deck repairs, concrete and joint patching, sealing and drainage improvements; install new guide rail and rumble strips; and repair or replace damaged traffic signs along the corridor.
H & K Group Inc. of Skippack, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $19.1 million project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2021. For information, visit www.422improvements.com.

King of Prussia, PA - Nighttime lane closures will be in place on southbound Interstate 95 at the Bridge Street and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges in Philadelphia next week for construction and related activities, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The locations and times are:
- Sunday, January 24, through Wednesday, January 27, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the southbound right lane will be closed at the southern end of the Bridge Street Interchange for soil borings. This work area is located just south of the three-lanes-in-each-direction traffic pattern that is currently in place for reconstruction between Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue; and
- Tuesday, January 26, through Thursday, January 28, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the southbound right lane will be closed periodically at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange for equipment movements during overhead ramp construction.
The construction activities are part of the ongoing $93.6 million I-95 ramp replacement project at the Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange. The soil borings are among the advance engineering activities underway for upcoming reconstruction of I-95 at the Bridge Street Interchange.

Route 113 (Harleysville Pike) Lane Closure Weekdays for Local Sidewalk Improvement in Lower Salford Township
King of Prussia, PA – Route 113 (Harleysville Pike) motorists will encounter a lane closure and periodic lane shift between Route 63 (Main Street) and Gruber Road in Lower Salford Township, Montgomery County, beginning Monday, February 1, for construction activities under a local sidewalk improvement project, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The lane closure and periodic lane shift will be in place weekdays from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM through mid-April.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction area because backups and slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The local municipal project consists of sidewalk installation, ADA ramp construction, pavement markings, guiderail installation and other miscellaneous enhancements.

I-95 North Single, Double Lane Closures Scheduled at Night Next Week for Guide Rail Installation in Delaware County
King of Prussia, PA – Northbound Interstate 95 motorists will encounter single and double lane closures in next week at the Delaware state line for guide rail installation under a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair 15 structures on more than 11 miles of the interstate in Lower Chichester, Upper Chichester, Chester, Ridley and Tinicum townships, the City of Chester and Upland and Ridley boroughs, Delaware County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, January 25, through Thursday, January 28, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, a single lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95; and
- Monday, January 25, through Thursday, January 28, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a double lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95.
I-95 motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because significant backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
Under this project, PennDOT's contractor will mill, overlay and rehabilitate the existing concrete pavement including 41 ramps; perform minor structural repairs to 15 of the 33 bridges located in the project limits; repair sections of median barrier; upgrade guide rail; install new pavement markings, delineators and rumble strips; repair and clean existing inlets and pipes; and replace damaged or missing traffic signs. The Pennsylvania Welcome Center just north of the Delaware state line also will be improved with concrete base repairs and new parking stripes, pavement markings and signs.
Allan A. Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $68.4 million project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2023.
