Lane Restrictions for Road Construction in Norristown

King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions are scheduled on several roadways in Norristown, Montgomery County, over the next two weeks for construction activities under the Markley Street (U.S.202 South) improvement project, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.

The work schedule and locations are:

  • Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Marshall Street between Barbadoes Street and Astor Street for road reconstruction;
  • Monday, April 25, through Sunday, May 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Main Street between Barbadoes Street and Markley Street (U.S. 202 South) for storm drainage installation; and
  • Monday, April 25, through Sunday, May 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on southbound Markley Street (U.S. 202 South) at the Main Street Interchange for construction activities.

Motorists should allow extra time for travel through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.  All operations are weather dependent.

Reconstruction of the southbound side of Markley Street (U.S. 202 South) is currently underway along with improvements to its intersections with Main Street and Marshall Street.

The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2022.

Alan Myers, LP, of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the $23,925,515 Section 510 project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.

For more information, visit the Markley Street Improvement Project website.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com or downloading the 511PA mobile application. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
