Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Resurfacing in Bucks, Chester, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Several state highways in Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery counties are restricted for resurfacing operations as part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway across the five-county Philadelphia region, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedules and locations are:

Bucks County

• Monday, May 9, through Friday, May 20, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures and occasional road closures are scheduled on New Hope Road between Route 413 (Durham Road) and Forest Grove Road in Buckingham Township for milling and paving operations. During periods when the roadway would need to be closed motorists will be directed to use Route 413 (Durham Road), Route 263 (York Road), Swamp Road, and Forest Grove Road.

Chester County

• Sunday, May 8, through Saturday, May 14, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Parkersville Road between U.S. 1 Baltimore Pike and Route 926 (Street Road) in Pennsbury Township for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, May 8, through Saturday, May 14, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Rock Raymond Road between U.S. 322 (Manor Avenue) and Dowlin Forge Road in East Brandywine and Caln townships for milling and paving operations;
• Sunday, May 8, through Saturday, May 14, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Quarry Road between Valley Creek Road and Lancaster Avenue in East Caln Township for milling and paving operations;
• Monday, May 9, through Friday, May13, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 282 (Creek Road/Wallace Avenue) between Devereaux Road and Pennsylvania Avenue in Downingtown Borough and Caln, East Brandywine and Wallace townships for milling and paving operations; and
• Friday, May 13, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Oxford Road between Route 472 (Market Street/Hickory Run Road) and Oxford Road over the East Branch of Big Elk Creek in New London and East Nottingham townships.

Montgomery County

• Sunday, May 8, through Tuesday, May 10, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Ridge Pike/Main Street between Route 29 (Second Avenue) and Limerick Center Road in Trappe and Collegeville boroughs and Limerick Township, for paving operations;
• Monday, May 9, through Friday, May 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Collegeville Road/2nd Avenue) between the U.S. 422 Interchange and Main Street/Ridge Pike in Upper Providence Township and Collegeville Borough for casting adjustments;
• Monday, May 9, through Friday, May 13, from 9:0 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Ridge Pike/Main Street between Route 29 (Second Avenue) and Limerick Center Road in Trappe and Collegeville boroughs and Limerick Township, for base repair and casting adjustments; and
• Wednesday, May 11, through Friday, May 13, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Collegeville Road/2nd Avenue) between the U.S. 422 Interchange and Main Street/Ridge Pike in Upper Providence Township and Collegeville Borough for paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com or downloading the 511PA mobile application. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
